Notice for April 28, 2009

A Message to the Lyndon State College Community

The federal government on April 26, 2009 declared a public health emergency after several cases of swine flu were confirmed in the United States. It is expected that more cases will be confirmed in the next several days.

No cases of swine flu have been reported in Vermont and no changes to course schedules, exams, or other activities are currently planned as a result of swine flu. Lyndon State College will follow the guidance of the Vermont Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in response to this issue.

It is always a good idea to take the following precautions:

  • Wash your hands often and well.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue and then throw it away.
  • Stay home from work or school and away from others if you are sick.
  • If you need medical attention, please call or stop by the Brown House (ext. 6440).
