Graduate Program in Education

Lyndon, in collaboration with the Northeast Kingdom School Development Center and the Vermont Higher Education Collaboration, offers a variety of professional development opportunities for educators at the graduate and undergraduate level.

Graduate Programs in Education 

  • Master of Education (M.Ed.)
  • Master of Science for Teachers (M.S.T.)
  • Certificate of Graduate Study in Administrative Leadership

Current Degree and Certificate Programs

  • Master of Education

    • Designed for teachers who wish to deepen their understanding of teaching and learning processes and content area or who are looking for a new emphasis in their training
    • Specializations include: 
      • Special Education 
      • Curriculum and Instruction 
      • Content Specialization 
      • Literacy Specialization (elementary or secondary) 
         
  • Master of Science for Teachers

    • Designed to offer sound preparation to teachers who have little or uneven background in the sciences. (Individuals who lack Vermont certification who wish to become certified will be required additional coursework.)
       
  • Certificate of Graduate Study in Administrative Leadership

    • 18-credit program that enables current and newly appointed administrators to refine their abilities to lead and effect positive change.
    • Educational personnel seeking leadership positions in K-12 public school settings can use this certificate to springboard into the M.Ed. program leading to licensure. 

Flexible Course Scheduling

Graduate coursework is usually scheduled on late afternoons and early evenings, on weekends, and during the summer.

  • Tuition is charged at the per credit rate for fewer than 12 credits and for credits in excess of 18.

  • Facilities fee is not charged for graduate courses taught off campus.
