Learning Business by Doing Business

Learning by doing is a cornerstone of Lyndon’s educational philosophy. Business faculty members work with the College’s Career Services Office, Lyndon alumni, and their extensive contacts in the business world, to place students in meaningful work situations. These experiences make students far better prepared to join the workforce. In fact, it’s not unusual for an internship to lead to a job offer after graduation.

A business internship or senior practicum is required of all four-year business degree recipients and candidates for the business concentration for the associates degree in Business Administration. Coursework in many classes includes numerous experiential learning scenarios: hands-on, client-based projects, local business initiatives, and work with our regional school and business-start up partnership, Incubator Without Walls (iWOW).
