Since 2004, Lyndon’s News7, our daily, student-produced newscasts, have garnered 80 regional and national awards, including an Emmy as the Nation’s Best College Newscast.

Highlights Include

A Top 10 U.S. Journalism Program Ranking Two Years in a Row

NewsPro Magazine

2013 survey conducted by the Radio Television Digital News Association and Crain’s TVNewsPro magazine ranked our program in the Top 10 of US journalism education programs. The 2014 survey by the same organizations confirmed and improved on Lyndon’s 2013 ranking.

Now ranked in the Top 6, Lyndon is, by far, the smallest school to make the list.

Best All-Around Television Newscast – Second Place: News 7 @ 5:30, Lyndon State College. A Monday–Friday live news program produced by students as part of the Vermont Center for Community Journalism’s curriculum. It airs on KATV and is streamed live on the web.
