Applied Psychology and Human Services Scholarships

Louise Daniel Human Services Award ―This scholarship was made possible by an anonymous donor in memory of Louise Daniel, LSC Assistant to the President in the late 60’s and early 70’s, who committed suicide. Two awards of $250 are awarded each year.

  • Eligibility Criteria: Applied Psychology and Human Services majors who are in their sophomore/junior year. The award is based on financial need and commitment to the field of psychology or human services. Students must have a GPA of at least 2.5.
  • Department faculty members will select awardees in March. Awardees will be notified in April. Financial Aid will provide notification in May and scholarship will be applied directly to the student’s college financial bill. For more information, speak with your advisor.

Susan C. Gallagher Psychology Award ― The Susan C. Gallagher Psychology Award was established by the family of Professor Emerita of Psychology and former Lyndon State President, Susan Cornelius Gallagher, to support a meritorious student majoring in psychology. One award is given each year. The amount of this award varies from year to year.

  • Eligibility Criteria: Applied Psychology and Human Services major who are in their junior/senior year. Students must have a GPA of at least 3.0. This is a merit-based scholarship. Priority will be given to students who evidence academic excellence.
  • Department faculty members will select awardees in March. Awardees will be notified in April. Financial Aid will provide notification in May and scholarship will be applied directly to the student’s college financial bill. For more information, speak with your advisor.

Irene Blanchard Scholarship ―This scholarship is named for Irene Blanchard, who taught in the Psychology and Human Services department for many years.

  • Eligibility Criteria: This scholarship is awarded to a female student who is native to Vermont or the North Country of New Hampshire who clearly demonstrates the potential to become a leader and/or contributor to making better lives for others through her work. Applicants must have completed at least one year at Lyndon and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5. The amount of the award varies from year-to-year.
  • To apply: Submit completed application form (click on link) to Student Services Center between January 1 and April 15.
