Visual Arts, A.S.

Lyndon’s Visual Arts degree allows for students to learn a wide range of artistic mediums while exploring his/her own artistic vision. Many art students pursue this degree as a step towards deciding on a four-year program. Students build a foundation in drawing and 2-D design and then pursue their interests among courses in painting, book arts, calligraphy or 3D arts such as sculpture and puppet-making.

Students graduating with an A.S. in Visual Arts will demonstrate:

  • an ability to express original ideas in a visual fashion
  • an ability to use a variety of techniques specific to the art medium
  • an ability to exhibit artwork following standard conventions
  • an awareness of historical and/or contemporary artists or art forms

The Visual Arts degree is NEBHE eligible (tuition discount) in Maine and New Hampshire. But we go better than that with our stackable awards.
