Did you know…?
More than twenty percent of Lyndon State freshmen indicate they have not chosen a major or may change their major.
Nearly sixty-six percent of Lyndon State students change their major at least once before they graduate.
Many college students are undecided about a choice of major or are uncertain of the choice they have made.
The facts speak for themselves: If you’re undecided, you’re not alone. In fact, we’d rather not describe you as undecided — we prefer to describe you as curious! You’re curious about the kinds of opportunities available to you at Lyndon and in the workforce. The ideal outlet for your curiosity is our Explorations program.
Explorations is designed to encourage you to explore the many options you have for a major at Lyndon. The best part? During your time in Explorations, you’ll be fulfilling graduation requirements! This means you won’t graduate late just because you took time to declare your major.
In Explorations, you’ll complete all of Lyndon’s General Education Program requirements in the first two years. By doing so, you’ll touch on all the great branches of knowledge and tap into expected and unexpected interests. Surrounded by like-minded students and dedicated faculty, you’ll define and redefine your skills, goals, and areas of interest. Ultimately, you’ll choose your major with confidence.
