Adjunct Instructor, Music And Performing Arts
“I learn so much through teaching. Having the opportunity to look deeply into subjects I care about, as I examine my own experiences and artistic endeavors, and use them to inform and inspire my students has helped me grow, not only as an artist, but as a human being. Helping young minds develop and witnessing their progress has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.”
Adjunct instructor Derek Campbell is a recent graduate of Lyndon State’s Music Business and Industry program. He graduated summa cum laude, earning his Bachelors degree in May 2015. Derek is the vocalist, lead guitarist, primary songwriter, and record producer for his band Electric Sorcery, who can be seen performing regularly at venues around New England.
He operates Lyndonunderground Studio from his home in Lyndonville, where he has recorded a variety of albums and EPs for local and regional artists. Derek has been instrumental in revitalizing the local Northeast Kingdom music scene by acting as talent buyer/promoter for several venues, and collaborating with fellow promoters on a variety of events. He is the director of LSC’s Rock & Roll Recording Summer camp for teenagers where he instructs campers in songwriting and production.
