Mailroom

The student mailroom is located on the first floor of Vail. It receives and distributes U.S. mail as well as packages from various carriers, plus mail on campus from college departments. Items addressed to faculty and staff are delivered to designated location daily, Monday through Friday.

Student mail is delivered to your mailbox, along with appropriate cards to notify you of a package or item to be signed for. These may be retrieved by bringing your student I.D. to the mailroom window during the posted hours of operations, as shown below. You MUST bring your college I.D.

It is EXTREMELY important that all incoming mail has your campus mailbox number on it, along with your complete name. This will help prevent delays, as mail is sorted by mailbox number and name. Please refer to the example below for your mailing address.

Where is the mailroom located?
The mailroom is located on the 1st floor of Vail.

Where can I get a key for my mailbox?
You can pick up your key in the mailroom. You will need your student ID in order to be able to get a key.

What if I lose my mailroom key?
If you lose your mailroom key, you can buy another one for $5.00. You will need your student ID in order to be able to get a key.

Do you have stamps/envelopes in the mailroom?
No, we do not have stamps/envelopes. The bookstore sells them.

How often should I check my mailbox?
It is recommended that you check your mailbox at least once a week. Even if you don’t receive a lot of off-campus mail, you may have important notices from the college (i.e. Financial Aid, Student Services, Registrars, etc.)

If I receive a package, how will I know that it is here?
You will receive either a pink card or a green card in your mailbox. The pink card means you have received a package from USPS (United States Postal Service) that did not require a signature but is too big for your mailbox. The green card means you have received a package for which you need to sign (i.e. UPS, Fed Ex, Federal Express, etc.).

You will need to show your Student ID to pick up any package. No ID = no package!

I am expecting an urgent package. Will I be notified when it comes in?
If there is a package that needs to be picked up immediately, I will e-mail you to let you know. You will need to show your Student ID to pick up any package. No ID = no package!

I was expecting a package that should have come in by now, but there is no card in my box. What do I do?
If you have a question about a package and have not received a card, please stop by the mailroom and we will try to help you find it.

Lost keys are replaced at a $5.00 charge. You will keep the same mailbox/key until you either graduate or leave school permanently. DO NOT ask for your mail, use your key. It is also your responsibility to keep the Mailroom informed of any change in student status: forwarding address, name changes, etc.

Stamps are available in the bookstore. Stamped letters may be dropped at blue mailboxes in the second floor of Vail building, in HAC entrance, or in the slot by the mailroom window. If you have any further questions, please stop by the mailroom window and we will do our best to answer them.
