The challenges of pursuing a degree can sometimes be overwhelming. With papers to write, books to read, exams to study for, notes to take, and a schedule to manage, your college years can be both the best and the most demanding years of your life. Our Academic Support Center can help when you need a hand in achieving academic success.
Just go to “Bob’s Place”, the Burnham Academic Support Center in the Library Academic Center, room 325, when
- you're struggling with your classes or with one particular class;
- you're having trouble managing your time;
- you're feeling anxious about tests;
- you're having trouble studying effectively;
- you’re having trouble writing a paper;
- you're worried about school but can't quite put your finger on why;
- you need a sugar or salt fix -- we have candy and pretzels!
ALL OF OUR SERVICES ARE FREE, SO STOP IN AND CHECK THEM OUT!
The Academic Support Center houses two programs, Project Excel and Student Academic Development.
Project Excel
This is a federally funded program which helps eligible students graduate from college. These services include:
- Tutoring Services
- Academic and Personal Counseling
- Services for Students with Disabilities
- Scholarships and Financial Aid Advising
- Laptop Lending Program
Student Academic Development.
All of LSC’s students are eligible for the academic support services provided through this program. These services include:
- Tutoring Services
- Writing Center Drop-in help for all your writing needs.
- Academic Counseling
- ESL Help with English as a second language
- Services for Students with Disabilities
- Math Resource Center Drop-in help for all levels of math.
