6th Annual NEK Veteran's Summit

The 2018 NEK Veteran’s Summit is on March 10, 2018, at Lyndon State College.

The purpose of the summit is to bring veterans, their families, and veteran service organizations together to build relationships, stronger connections, and an enhanced regional support network in Vermont and Northern New Hampshire.

The Ian Muller Rail Jam takes place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the nearby Burke Mountain Resort.

All are encouraged to attend; registration is FREE and open to all veterans and their families. 

  • Registration for exhibitors will close on Monday, March, 5 at 4 p.m.
  • Registration for participants will close on Friday, March 8 at noon.
  • Walk-in registrations are welcome and encouraged!

Employment Opportunities for Veterans
Vermont Veterans Employment Network – Please visit the Vermont Department of Labor booth located at booth number 55I and the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) booth located at 41H, both located in the Stannard Gym. Information, resources, and private one on one meetings in LAC 343 are available to veterans looking for employment during the event.

2:00 pm to 3 pm Vermont’s 40th Army Band Concert, Location: Alexander Twilight Theatre. Join “Vermont’s Own” 40th Army Band for an afternoon of traditional patriotic American tunes as well as classic and contemporary music.

Members of the 40th Army Band serve one weekend a month and two weeks of Annual Training each year in the Vermont Army National Guard.  As civilians the rest of the year, they are engaged in such diverse occupations as education, law, security, technology, medicine, and sales. Free and Open to the Public

Ongoing Coffee Break with Veteran Service Organizations and Exhibitors. The Mobile Vet Center and veteran service organization booths will be on hand throughout the day to provide key information and resources important to the veteran community, including a “Stand Down” hosted by the VA. Exhibitor Booths and the VA Stand Down are located in the Stannard Gym. The Mobile Vet Center is located on the Circular Drive near the ATT Theater.

2:00 pm to 6 pm The 5th Annual Ian Muller Rail Jam
Location: The Base Lodge at Burke Mountain Resort, 223 Sherburne Lodge Road, East Burke, Vt. All proceeds fund the Ian Muller Memorial Scholarship for student veterans at Lyndon State College.

— Presentation of the annual Ian Muller Memorial Scholarship

The Burke Mountain Hotel and Conference Center is offering a “stay and ski” package at a deeply discounted rate for anyone attending the Summit.
