Honoring Our Student Veterans
The Lyndon Veterans Park is a three-phase project to honor Lyndon students who have served in the armed forces. The first phase, a lettering and star design, identifies the park’s area around Fountain Pond. It was installed in the summer of 2012 and formally dedicated on November 12, 2012. The installation was made possible by the generous donations of members of our community.
The Veterans Club has begun fund raising for the next phases, estimated to cost between $4,000 and $6,000. Phase two was the installation of a granite reflection bench overlooking the Park and Fountain Pond on November 11, 2013. The third phase will be to produce a series of plaques inscribed with the names of past and present Lyndon State veterans.
