July 2018 | AMGA Single Pitch Instruction and Certification Assessment
American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) Single Pitch Instruction and Certification Assessment (27 hours instruction, 16 hours assessment)
The Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) course teaches climbing instructors to proficiently facilitate and instruct the sport of rock climbing in a single pitch setting. The SPI is the only internationally recognized single pitch climbing instructor certification program* in the United States. It was developed to fit in the AMGA Rock program. The program is for current, active rock climbers who have a real desire to teach rock climbing in a single pitch setting.

AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Assessment: Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 24, 2018
Location: Meet at Harvey Academic Center room 121 on the Lyndon State College campus on first day of course instruction at 8:30 a.m. A detailed agenda of instruction and assessment meeting location for subsequent days will be provided on the first day.

July 28 & 29, 2018 | Wilderness First Aid and CPR
Wilderness First Aid and CPR (16 hours)
The two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is SOLO’s most popular creating a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. Initially offered in 1975, this course was the first of its kind in the United States, and it is the curriculum upon which all other backcountry medicine courses are based. SOLO CPR instruction and certification is included. This is a great course for mountain bikers, hikers, climbers, backpackers, backcountry skiers and other outdoor enthusiasts who venture out for day and weekend trips.

Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Lyndon State College has partnered with several of the leading high stakes computerized testing organizations to deliver professional, industry, academic, and state certification and licensure exams.
Certiport Testing Center
Vermont’s Only Public Certiport Testing Center for Microsoft, Intuit, and Adobe Certification
Lyndon State College is a Certiport Authorized Testing Centers, able to offer exams in the Microsoft products and Intuit QuickBooks. Certiport delivers certification exams through a specialized, worldwide network of 12,000 Certiport Authorized Testing Centers. Centers are uniquely positioned to provide the highest level of reliable, performance-based testing.
A $25 proctor fee per exam applies and is a separate charge from the Certiport fee.
Exams are scheduled between Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pearson Vue Testing Center
The Lyndon State College Center for Professional Studies hosts an authorized Pearson VUE testing center. Pearson VUE is the leading provider of global computer-based testing solutions for information technologies, academic, government, and professional testing programs.
Lyndon State College partners with Pearson VUE to provide our students and members of the community access to hundreds of academic and industry-recognized exams to test candidates pursuing key industry certifications from leading programs. Exam options span professional licensure and certification exams such as Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist (CHTS), National Strength and Conditioning Association, and North Eastern Joint Apprenticeship & Training (NEAT), as well as information technology exams like Cisco, CompTIA, EMC, HP, LPI, Oracle and VMware.
Exams may be purchased and scheduled directly on the Pearson VUE website. The exam center is open on Mondays from 9am to 5pm or by special appointment that can be set up calling the Center for Professional Studies. Contact the Director at (802) 626-4867 or credirector@LyndonState.edu. Proctor fees for tests offered through Pearson VUE are included when registering on the Pearson VUE website.
