Vermont Institute of Applied Meteorology
The Vermont Institute of Applied Meteorology (VIAM) was founded in 2006 as a means to engage students in Lyndon’s Atmospheric Sciences Program in experiential learning activities, and allow faculty to remain professionally active within their respective expertise. As of January 2010, VIAM has contracted over 10 unique projects, with over 20 students gaining invaluable experience.
We offer a diverse set of services, a sample of our expertise includes customized short- and medium-range weather forecasting, climatological studies, and forensic investigations. Since we utilize the resources of the Atmospheric Sciences Department, we can offer cost-effective and high-quality services.
