Academic Organizations and Honoraries

Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society (ALD)
The purpose of the Society shall be to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and assist women and men in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society. Students are inducted into this society after meeting GPA requirements their first semester at Lyndon. This group focuses on doing projects to improve their community.

American Meteorological Society/National Weather Association (AMS/NWA)
Lyndon’s chapter of AMS/NWA encourages fellowship among members, stimulates awareness and interest in meteorology and activities, and shares of knowledge of the science of meteorology. This club often brings speakers to campus, manages a national meteorology conference, and organizes other Lyndon traditions such as the Winter Ball and an annual talent show.

Criminal Justice Club
The Criminal Justice Club is open to all students interested in the field of Criminal Justice—regardless of whether or not you are in the CJ major. This club host an annual job fair in which organizations from around the area attend to offer students job and internship opportunities.

Model UN
The Model UN club participates every year in the Harvard National Model United Nations conference in Boston. They apply for a country to represent on various committees that are simulations of the UN. On campus, they’re hoping to promote discussion through a series of forum-style “talks” this semester.

Music and Entertainment Industry Students Association (MEISA)
MEISA is the National Music and Entertainment Industry Students Association. Their goal is to provide a marketplace for ideas, strategies, and original concepts in education to meet the professional challenges of the music industry in the 21st century. Additionally, the club strives to advance the students’ knowledge, experience, and skills, in furtherance of career goals in the music industry.

Sigma Zeta Honor Society
This organization encourages and fosters the attainment of knowledge of natural sciences, mathematics, and computer sciences. The club also recognizes the attainment of high scholarship amongst its members. Sigma Zeta sponsors a science fair for local high school students and organizes various on-campus events for the Lyndon community.

Sports Medicine Club
The purpose of this organization is to bring together members of the Lyndon community that have a shared interest in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science. Join this new club on campus and learn more about this exciting field!

Student Investment Group
The Student Investment Group is open to any student interested in investing money and with an interest in the business world. This group is tied closely to the Business Department at Lyndon.

Twilight Players
This group is dedicated to the performing and interpretive arts. The Twilight Players has created an environment in which these arts can be enjoyed through a variety of media and community service projects. The Twilight Players is one of Lyndon’s oldest student groups. They typically produce two shows a year for the Lyndon and surrounding communities and organize impromptu nights in which any member of the community can participate.
