Peasant of El Salvador

Staged Reading. This play was commissioned by the St. Michael’s Church in Brattleboro and first performed there in April 1981. It played to rave reviews at the Edinburgh Festival. It tells the story of a peasant farmer who struggles to maintain his family and land during the civil war in El Salvador in the 1980’s. The play teaches empathy, tolerance and much more about world politics, ethnic attitudes, and the relationship between hunger and world economics.
