Small college. Big impact.
Pictured above is the Lyndon State College Health/Fitness Intervention Program (HFIP). This program was created in 2006 with the intent to promote health in our local community through the delivery of evidence-based exercise programming. This program also provides a very unique undergraduate opportunity for advanced senior students in the Department of Exercise Science to design and implement a health/fitness program to a diverse group of participants. The HFIP program is intended for individuals who have successfully completed Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Physical/Occupational Therapy, and/or a Diabetic Exercise Education Program. Our hope is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to bridge the gap between these clinical exercise programs and independent, lifelong exercise.
“I feel that all the practical portions of the program are key to its success. In discussing my college experience with peers from other schools in exercise science programs all of them are surprised with the amount of practical knowledge and experience I have from Lyndon’s program. I believe that my success outside of college is directly related to the practical knowledge I received.” Calvin Sanderson ’15, Co-Owner/Founder of SPECTAC Health Fitness and Performance, Colchester, VT
